I recently spent some time in and around Bamford, in the Peak District, which is where the next Arctic Ultras course will take place. I keep threatening that each year 'will be the last' for the course, but I think it is safest to say this is the last in the current format, due to work commitments going forward.
The area itself is stunning, and the venue is absolutely perfect for the course - part of a community hub with some good places that focus on the outdoors. The course itself is a blend of theory and practical sessions, and not a fitness training course. Nevertheless, it was good to get out and about to see some routes we might head along, for the sake of practicing camp and stove drills somewhere more 'transferable'.
This was the first visit of a couple that will take place before the course begins.
